Announcement on behalf of Affinity Sutton and Circle Housing

On 11 December 2015 the Affinity Sutton Group Limited and Circle Anglia Limited (operating as Circle Housing Group), two of the UK's largest housing associations, announced that their respective Boards had approved an outline business case to merge. Work to complete the merger during 2016 has been progressing and today the full Designate Executive and Shadow Board team is announced:

Executive Designate appointments:

Chief Executive Officer Designate - Keith Exford CBE, is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Affinity Sutton Group. His career in housing spans over 35 years and started at Southwark Council. In addition he is a non executive Director of The Housing Finance Corporation and a trustee of CLIC Sargent. He was awarded a CBE in 2015 New Year's Honours List for services to housing.

Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Commercial) Designate - Mark Rogers is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Circle Housing Group. He has led Circle Housing for ten years since Circle 33 and Anglia Housing Group merged in 2005. He is currently Deputy Chairman of the g15, which represents London's 15 largest housing associations.

Chief Financial Officer Designate - Mark Washer, is currently the Group Financial Director of Affinity Sutton. He is responsible for all aspects of Affinity Sutton's finances and IT, with a focus on financial strategy. He is currently leading the Group's major change programme which is transforming the way it does business.

Company Secretary Designate - Clare Miller, is currently the Group Director of Governance and Compliance of Affinity Sutton. Before this she was an Executive Director of the TSA where she was responsible for the regulation of housing associations in England. Clare also worked for the Housing Corporation, where she led the investigatory and supervisory work of the regulator dealing with associations in special measures.

Chief Executive Officer of Housing Association Designate - Neil McCall, is currently the Group Operations Director of Affinity Sutton. He has overall responsibility for the delivery of landlord services; focusing on asset management, customer services, housing management and resident involvement for all of our general needs and supported housing customers.

HR Director Designate - Jonathan Cawthra, is currently the Group Resources Director of Affinity Sutton. He is responsible for creating a culture in which all staff have the opportunity and commitment to make a real contribution to the Group's success. Before joining Affinity Sutton in 2003 Jonathan held a number of senior roles at Royal Mail, latterly as Communications Director

Director of Transition Designate - Austen Reid is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Circle Housing Group. He joined Circle Housing in 2015 bringing significant property and social sector experience, having previously been a Director at Catalyst and The Hyde Group. Private sector experience was gained as a Director at Savills.

Shadow Board appointments:

Chair Designate - Sir Robin Young, currently the Chair of Circle Housing Group. Prior to this he enjoyed a successful career in the highest echelons of the Civil Service, spanning 31 years. Sir Robin was Permanent Secretary at the DTI and DCMS between 1999 and 2005.

Deputy Chair Designate - Neil Goulden, currently the Chair of Affinity Sutton Group. He was previously Chief Executive and Chairman at the Gala Coral Group. Neil is also Chair of the gambling industry charity - the Responsible Gambling Trust.

Shadow Board Member and Chair of Audit Committee - Simon Braid, sits on the Management Board of Circle Housing Group. He was Head of Charities and Social Housing at KPMG until his retirement in 2009. He has over 20 years' experience in the social housing sector.

Shadow Board Member and Chair of Treasury Committee - Colin Sturgeon, sits on the Affinity Sutton Group Board and is Chair of the Group's Treasury Committee and Affinity Sutton Funding Limited. He was formerly Deputy Chairman of the Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets (Europe).

Shadow Board Member and Chair of Remuneration Committee - Helen Bailey sits on the Affinity Sutton Group Board. She is the Chief Operating Officer at the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime. Prior to this she held senior roles at HM Treasury and was Chief Executive at the London Borough of Islington.

Shadow Board Member - David Avery sits on the Management Board of Circle Housing Group. He was Chairman of Saxon Weald Housing Association from 2009 to 2014. He is a former President of European Operations for Novellus Systems Inc.

Shadow Board Member -Tania Brisby is a member of the Management Board of Circle Housing Group. She has worked in investment banking (Samuel Montagu, NatWest Group, Deutsche Bank) and consultancy services.

Shadow Board Member - Sue Killen sits on Affinity Sutton's Group Board and is Chair of the Affinity Sutton Homes Board. She is currently the Chief Executive of St John Ambulance. Prior to this she held senior positions in Government including Director General at the Department for Transport.

Shadow Board Member - Brian Stewart OBE sits on the Management Board of Circle Housing Group. He is a portfolio Non-Executive Director and consultant, following a career in local and regional government.
