There is "no limit" to the cooperation between French car maker Renault SA (RNO.FR) and German peer Daimler AG (DAI.XE), Renault Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn said Thursday.

The two companies last year sealed an industrial cooperation pact in small vehicles and small engines.

"There are a lot of other ideas," Ghosn told a press conference. These could include collaboration in electric vehicles, logistics, premium vehicles and transmissions, he said.

But he said the decision has been made for now to concentrate on three vehicle programs. "Once these projects are on the rails we can think about extending into other areas," Ghosn said.

The cooperation pact is cemented by 3.1% cross-shareholdings between the two companies. Asked if this structure could evolve in the future, Ghosn said financial shareholdings come on top of the industrial cooperation pacts it has with Daimler and other partners like Nissan Motor Co. (7201.TO) and aren't the motivation for them.
