International, Inc. (NYSE:SRX), a leading provider of technology
and strategic consulting services and solutions to government
organizations and commercial clients, today announced it has won a
three-year contract with the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) to provide program development, management and
support for the National Center for Public Health Informatics
(NCPHI). The contract, which involves a series of 12 task areas,
has an estimated value of $21 million if all options are exercised.
Public health informatics is the systematic application of
information technology (IT) and computer sciences to public health
practice, research and learning. NCPHI uses public health

Wayne Myers, SRA will provide NCPHI technical, program and
management services across a broad range of initiatives. The goal
of the initiatives - which include program and performance
management, enterprise architecture, information resource
governance, communications and collaboration, applied research and

is to enhance the availability of health data and the adoption of
public health information standards across the public health

availability of timely, quality health data - is critical to the
success of a wide range of public health programs," said SRA Chief
Medical Officer Dr. Andrew Friede. "SRA will draw from core
competencies in informatics, IT, public health program support and
strategic consulting to support NCPHI's important mission." SRA has
