Company Chosen for Expertise in Service-Oriented Architecture Software Development and Operations Support for 'JABS' Program HERNDON, Va., Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- McDonald Bradley, Inc., a rapidly- growing secure information sharing and IT solutions provider to the government marketplace, today announced that it was awarded a subcontract by SRA International, Inc. (NYSE:SRX) to support the U.S. Dept. of Justice on the nationwide Joint Automated Booking System (JABS) project. The Company will provide custom software design and development services that leverage in-depth expertise in Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). In addition, McDonald Bradley will support the ongoing operations and maintenance of the JABS system. The single award, five-year, General Services Administration Federal Supply Schedule blanket purchase agreement has an estimated value of $20 million to SRA if all options are exercised. The JABS program is a multi-agency initiative to facilitate electronic access to information related to the booking of offenders. Not only does it automate the booking process, it provides a secure mechanism to rapidly and positively identify an individual based on fingerprint, photograph and biographical data submission. JABS shares such information among federal law enforcement agencies that include: Bureau of Prisons, Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, US Marshals Service, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Under this subcontract, McDonald Bradley will be involved in various other software development initiatives besides those focused on SOA activities for the JABS system. The team's expertise will be tapped from the conceptual stage of new enhancements or components through implementation and will include conducting IT evaluations and making architecture recommendations. Included will be actual software design, development, testing and deployment of new components or modifications, ensuring complete IT security requirements are met. In handling the operational support, the team will administer and maintain the current and evolving JABS system from the hardware, configuration and network communications perspectives. McDonald Bradley will also provide national support services to the various agency personnel using the system. "The JABS contract win is another example of our growing reputation as experts in the creation and delivery of custom software systems based on Services-Oriented Architectures," said Ken Bartee, President and CEO.
