Perini Corporation (NYSE:PCR), a leading building and civil construction company, announced today that it has received two Task Order awards to design and construct overhead coverage systems at 55 locations across Iraq in support of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' construction programs. The structures will provide additional protection for existing base facilities. One award is for $119,283,840, and the second award is for $65,236,916. Both awards were competitively made under an existing contract to provide design-build construction related services within the Central Command (CENTCOM) Area of Operations. Perini has been contributing to the reconstruction process in Iraq, continuously over the past two years. The majority of projects have been in the electrical generation, transmission and distribution sector. The company has also been supporting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Afghanistan, for the past three years, with construction of Afghan National Army Bases.
