Medical Staffing Network Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: MRN) today announced
the Company (MSN) has been awarded Health Care Staffing Services
(HCSS) Certification from The Joint Commission. This is the third
consecutive corporate-wide certification that MSN has earned since
2005, soon after The Joint Commission began reviewing healthcare
staffing organizations and issuing its Gold Seal of Approval as a
symbol of quality to those meeting the Commissions performance
standards. Joint Commission certification underscores our position
as an industry leader, said Robert Adamson, MSN Chief Executive
Officer and co-founder. MSN, from its inception, established an
ongoing commitment to quality. We pioneered the concept of
universal quality standards for healthcare staffing agencies.
Quality is a foundational component of our corporate culture and
the cornerstone of every service we provide to our clients. A
stringent corporate review of MSN was conducted by The Joint
Commission as an integral part of the HCSS certification process.
This included unannounced virtual, as well as on-site, branch
visits to Company offices nationwide to ensure that performance
standards are incorporated at all times into the day-to-day
operations of each of the Companys three staffing divisions per
diem, travel and allied. In its reviews, The Joint Commission
considers four primary performance areas: Leadership, Human
Resources Management, Performance Measurement and Improvement and
Information Technology. Pat Layton, RN, and MSN Executive Vice
President of Quality Improvement, added, As a Joint Commission
certified staffing firm, MSN demonstrates an understanding of the
compliance and commitment to continuous improvement that our
clients must meet to provide safe, quality healthcare. This
increases their confidence in our services, because they know that
MSN is following best industry practices. Im very proud of all of
our offices as they have embraced our company mission to align
ourselves with the best interests of our clients in providing
quality patient care. Layton serves as chairman of the MSN
Governing Board of Professional Standards. This group of healthcare
clinicians plays a pivotal role in the Companys mission to focus
on the quality of patient care and safety ahead of all other
business considerations. Our goal is to keep MSN on the leading
edge of improving patient care by continuously refining hiring
criteria, policies and processes, said Layton. We ensure that our
staff qualifications and competence meet or exceed Joint Commission
and MSN standards for patient safety and quality of care. The
Joint Commission is the nations oldest and largest health care
accrediting body. In addition to evaluating and accrediting more
than 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United
States, it developed the Health Care Staffing Services
Certification program in 2003. The program was officially launched
in October 2004, and Pat Layton is currently a member of the
programs advisory council. Further information about Medical
