Gateway Names William Evans Senior Vice President of International
POWAY, Calif., June 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gateway, Inc.
announced today that it has appointed William Evans, an executive
with more than 20 years of management experience in Asia-Pacific,
Europe and the United States, as senior vice president of

age 45, will be responsible for overseeing Gateway's sales,
marketing and operations as it continues to expand its product
lines outside the U.S. market. He spent the last five years at Blue
Martini Software, a San Mateo, Calif.-based provider of
sales-optimization software, where he served as vice president and
managing director for Asia-Pacific. In this position, Mr. Evans
established offices in Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo,
while developing partnerships with major distributors in the
region. He previously spent three years in senior management roles
at Objectivity, Inc., a provider of higher performance data-base
engines, where he was vice president and general manager of the
company's web content management division and vice president of
marketing. Prior to that, he spent more than four years at Red
Brick Systems, a software start-up that went public and was
ultimately purchased by IBM, where his last position was director
of European sales. Mr. Evans has an MBA from Harvard University
Business School, a master's degree in electrical engineering and
computer science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a
bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and computer science
from Santa Clara University, where he graduated summa cum laude.
