CVS Kidney Care said Monday is was entering a strategic
partnership with Satellite Healthcare, a not-for-profit provider of
kidney dialysis and related services, to advance the care of
patients who have kidney disease.
The two groups said they will initially work in Austin, Texas,
and Los Angeles to increase awareness and access to in-home
dialysis and transplant options.
"We have known for many years that more frequent, longer
dialysis improves patient outcomes. Realistically this can only be
done in the home. Our relationship with Satellite Healthcare will
help us make this option a reality for more patients," said Alan
Lotvin, M.D., EVP CVS Health and President of CVS Caremark. He also
said CVS expects to expand the relationship over time.
Clinical laboratory testing service Ascend Clinical will provide
laboratory testing for CVS Kidney Care as part of this
relationship.
CVS Kidney care is a CVS Health company.
