Hotwire, the global communications agency, today announced that Barbara Bates, Global CEO, has been recognized as one of the Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business for 2018. San Francisco Business Times’ annual list highlights the top female business leaders in the region.

“It’s an honor to be recognized alongside the women on this list who show such passion and dedication in their profession,” said Bates. “It’s refreshing to see how many more CEOs and big brands are represented this year. It means we are making progress!”

As Global CEO at Hotwire, Bates drives the strategic direction of the business and oversees the agency’s 11 offices worldwide. Her mission is to make Hotwire the best agency you’ll ever work with. In addition, her Silicon Valley roots give her the knowledge and the network needed to help both established brands and startups meet their business goals.

Prior to Hotwire, Bates spent 25 years building her own agency, Eastwick, into one of the most preeminent technology-focused communications firms in the country, before it was acquired by Hotwire in late September 2016.

Bates is a very active member of the community – sitting on Traackr's advisory board for six years and regularly volunteering at the local Meals on Wheels chapter in San Francisco. Through Hotwire, she has also supported non-profit organizations in New York and San Francisco including Jumpstart, Glide, Stoked, Presidio Trust and America Needs You.
