Novatek said Thursday that it has signed a long-term sales contract for liquefied natural gas from its Arctic LNG 2 project with Shenergy Group.

The Russian energy company said under the deal it will supply more than 3 million tons of LNG over 15 years to China.

"The Chinese market is one of the key regions in our LNG marketing strategy, and we plan to further increase our supplies of liquefied natural gas to this country," Chairman Leonid Mikhelson said.
