SAN JOSE, Calif., June 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Harmonic
(NASDAQ: HLIT), the worldwide leader in video delivery technology
and services, today announced that Medianet, a leading pay-TV
operator in the Maldives, has
deployed a UHD contribution and video processing solution from
Harmonic for broadcasting sports events. Using Harmonic's solution,
Medianet is delivering live UHD coverage of one of the biggest
global soccer tournaments, taking place in Russia from June 14 to
July 15, with exceptional video quality at low bit
rates.
"Delivering one of the world's most-watched sports events in UHD
allows us to be distinctive, providing viewers with sharp detail
and eye-catching images of every memorable moment," said Mr.

Berthaud, vice president of sales, APAC, at Harmonic. "Any

we're excited to be a part of that. Helping Medianet deliver live
UHD content to the Maldives
represents a leap forward in video distribution in the region."
