RSA CONFERENCE -- Carbon Black, a leader in
next-generation endpoint security, today announced it has expanded
its relationship with IBM Security (NYSE:IBM) as the Cb
Predictive Security Cloud (PSC)™ will be part of the newly launched
IBM X-Force Threat Management Services to further combat advanced
threats across the entire threat lifecycle.
Carbon Black also announced that strong customer adoption of
existing Carbon Black / IBM integrations has fueled two new
integrations between Cb Defense and IBM Security’s QRadar and
BigFix. Cb Predictive Security Cloud and IBM X-Force Threat
Management Services IBM X-Force Threat Management Services
are designed to elevate the focus of the IT team from remedial
tasks to more impactful work (such as threat hunting), along with
the necessary threat insight, prevention, detection, response, and
recovery required to manage risk and action in today’s cyber threat
environment.
In alignment with the National Institute of Science and
Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework, IBM X-Force Threat
Management Services provide expertise, AI, and orchestration across
all phases of the cyber-threat lifecycle, reducing risk and
response time. Data from Carbon Black’s Predictive Security Cloud
(PSC) will help fuel these services.
Cb Predictive Security Cloud

Industry-Leading Orchestration Tools to Battle Cyber
Threats IBM X-Force Threat Management Services are
delivered through the IBM X-Force Protection Platform built upon a
foundation of AI capabilities, enabling faster identification of
data, simplification of the security tool set, and employing
industry-leading orchestration tools to battle cyber threats at a
new level. Security operations have near real-time visibility and
actionable insights, garnered from the intelligence collected and
analyzed from more than two trillion events per month, across more
than 130 countries. The IBM X-Force Protection Platform uses
best-in-breed technology, like Watson for cybersecurity, User
Behavior Analytics, and IBM Resilient to automate
and orchestrate key tasks to reduce false positives and
accelerate response to attacks.
Cb Defense + QRadar Integration
Carbon Black also announced the “Cb Defense App for QRadar,"
available via the IBM Security App Exchange. (The IBM Security App
Exchange enables IBM teams, customers, business partners, and other
developers to create and share applications that integrate with
QRadar, IBM BigFix and other IBM Security solutions.) This
integration uses QRadar to automatically poll Cb Defense for new
endpoint data in real-time and pull that info into QRadar for
further risk or incident analysis. Customers can access Cb Defense
data from a tab in the QRadar console and benefit from:
- Visibility from a single pane of glass
- Speed to detect/respond from SOC
- Extended SIEM down to endpoint
- Ease of implementation
Cb Defense + IBM BigFix Integration
Carbon Black also announced the “Cb Defense Integration for IBM
BigFix," which is available via the IBM Security App Exchange. The
Cb Defense + IBM BigFix integration allows IT Ops to install or
uninstall Cb Defense sensors and report Cb Defense sensor
deployment status and health, like whether a sensor is running or
the last signature update time, all available from IBM BigFix
Console.
Benefits to customers include:
- Faster/easier deployment of anti-malware solutions
- Improved compliance monitoring and reporting
- Remediation at scale
- Bridging the gap between security and IT operations
“Carbon Black’s deep relationship with IBM continues to be
reflected with strong customer adoption and product integrations,”
said Tom Barsi, Carbon Black’s SVP of Business Development. “With
the Predictive Security Cloud, we are empowering IBM Security’s
world-class security experts to gain unmatched visibility across an
organization's endpoints. The result is better cybersecurity
hygiene and additional peace of mind when it comes to defending
against advanced cyberattacks.”
