Las Vegas' Newest Resort Takes Luxury Retail to New Heights LAS VEGAS, Nov. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Palazzo, a Las Vegas Sands Corp. (NYSE:LVS) resort nearing completion in the heart of the famed Las Vegas Strip, today announced that The Shoppes at The Palazzo -- the 450,000-square-foot luxury retail component of the project -- will open to the public on January 18, 2008. Anchored by an 85,000-square-foot Barneys New York, The Shoppes at The Palazzo will feature more than 60 lavish boutiques and comprise the most luxurious retail offerings in Las Vegas to date, according to Rob Goldstein, president of The Palazzo and its sister-property The Venetian. "Barneys New York is more than just the world's emporium of style. It will serve as a landmark for The Palazzo with its iconic red awnings and award-winning window displays that will front the Las Vegas Strip," said Goldstein. "Barneys, considered a leading retailer for the fashion-forward, will be an unparalleled shopping destination among Las Vegas properties underscoring the ultra-luxurious experience to which The Palazzo is committed. We couldn't ask for a stronger and more appropriate anchor for the resort's profile and anticipated guest base." In addition to Barneys New York, a remarkable 20 stores and luxury brands are making their Las Vegas debuts at The Palazzo. They include Chloe, Tory Burch, Christian Louboutin, Diane Von Furstenberg, Van Cleef & Arpels, Anya Hindmarch, Poleci, Lambertson Truex, Phillipe Charriol, Edidi, Piaget and Michael Kors. These new additions to the Las Vegas Strip will be joined by the likes of Ralph Lauren, Jimmy Choo, Piaget, Burberry, Salvatore Ferragamo, Fendi, Bottega Veneta and Montblanc to present one of the most upscale retail destinations under one roof in the United States. The Shoppes at The Palazzo will also be home to more than a dozen restaurants featuring a variety of cuisine from a star-studded collection of award-winning chefs. The new restaurants include CarneVino by Mario Batali, CUT by Wolfgang Puck, Table 10 by Emeril Lagasse, and Restaurant Charlie by Charlie Trotter, as well as Dos Caminos, Grand Lux Caf, Jade, Mainland, Morels French Steakhouse & Bistro, Prime Blue Grill, SUSHISAMBA, and Woo. "In a city like Las Vegas, making a statement can be challenging," said Goldstein. "But The Shoppes at The Palazzo, with dozens of the world's premier luxury brands and a star-studded restaurant line-up, is set to take luxury retail and dining to the next level in Las Vegas." Not to be outdone by its retail and restaurant counterparts, entertainment and recreation will also be a powerful draw at The Palazzo. A new 65,000-square-foot Canyon Ranch SpaClub, the Las Vegas version of the dynamic 40/40 sports bar and lounge, a unique Lamborghini showroom, gift store and cafe, and Broadway smash-hit Jersey Boys (which will take up residence in a new 1,650 seat theater in the spring of 2008) will all add to the energy and excitement of The Palazzo. Las Vegas Sands Corp. plans to soft-open the resort in late December 2007 with grand opening festivities beginning the evening of January 17, 2008.
