DV Howells wins MoD contract
DV Howells Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Braemar Seascope Group PLC, has
won a contract to provide an Emergency Pollution Response Service to incidents
involving Ministry of Defense (MoD) units and establishments, and United States
Visiting Forces (USVF).
The service provides 24/7, 365 days a year response to any oil and chemical
incidents involving MoD and USVF facilities and activities anywhere in the UK
and Northern Ireland, UK Coastal waters and worldwide in International waters.
The global service is for HM Warships, Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) and other MoD
operated vessels.
The contract is for an initial three year period and is extendable to five years
at the option of the MoD. The value of the contract is determined principally by
the number and extent of the various incidents and therefore cannot be
quantified accurately.
The business of DV Howells was acquired by Braemar Seascope in March 2006.
Commenting on the new contract, Braemar Seascope's Chief Executive, Alan Marsh,
said,
"We are delighted that DV Howells has won this prestigious contract so soon
after joining the Braemar Seascope group. It is an early demonstration of the
company's potential and we expect to see DV Howells continue to win new business
in future now that it is part of the group."
