Zurich Financial Services Group (which includes Eagle Star Life Assurance
Company of Ireland Limited) in the issued ordinary shares and warrants of
Kenmare Resources Plc.  We understand that there are 579,288,545 ordinary shares
and 72,716,992 warrants of Kenmare Resources Plc in issue at 30th September
2004.



I wish to confirm that at the 30th September 2004, the combined shareholdings of
entities in the Zurich Financial Services Group Plc. amounts to 19,130,000
ordinary Shares and 4,731,250 warrants in Kenmare Resources plc and this amounts
to 3.302% of the Issued Ordinary Share Capital and 6.506% of Issued warrants.
