that it has been appointed by Evergreen Investments (Evergreen) to
provide investment manager operations outsourcing services for more
than 2,500 portfolios representing approximately $150 billion in
assets, as of September 30, 2006. State Street will provide
Evergreen with a broad range of investment operations services
including trade matching and confirmation, data management,
reconciliation, performance measurement and portfolio
recordkeeping. As a result of this mandate, approximately 60
Evergreen employees are transferring to State Street. State Street
has provided Evergreen Investments with custody and accounting
