More Than 13,000 Backyard Barbecuers Entered to Compete for Second
Annual Title of America's Most PAM-azing Griller OMAHA, Neb., Aug.
22 /PRNewswire/ -- Flames roared and tongs flew this weekend in New
York City, as 19 of the nations' best grillers sweated it out for
the second annual PAM(R) for Grilling contest to win the title of
the Most PAM-azing Griller in the final round of a three-month-long
grill-off competition. Josie Aaronson-Gelb from Chicago, Ill. was
crowned after sizzling a juicy skirt steak topped with a
fire-roasted tomato relish and accompanied by red potato wedges.
Josie Aaronson-Gelb returned home with the grand prize of $10,000,
a customized Char-Broil (R) grill, other prizes, and trophy. To

come rain or shine -- and I love to grill for my friends and
family, so to win the title of the Most PAM-azing Griller 2006
means so much to me," said Josie Aaronson-Gelb. "Even before the
contest though, I used PAM for Grilling. With PAM, everything I
cook looks great, and clean-up is easy. Even though I love to
grill, I hate cleaning up the black sticky stuff on my grill and
cooking tools." The judges were impressed by Josie Aaronson-Gelb's
ability to stay cool in the hot seat by entertaining the judges,
competing against 18 other contestants, grilling everything from
peaches and shrimp to perfection with her own distinct flare, and
presenting a picture-perfect dish. Josie Aaronson-Gelb secured her
position in the final round after explaining, "Why I should be
crowned America's Most PAM-azing Griller" online, then completing a
video-demonstration, where she mastered chicken quesadillas with
grilled corn relish, and barbequed chicken kabobs with roasted
peppers. Josie Aaronson-Gelb's favorite food to grill is mahi mahi
tacos, and her secret tip to a perfect dish every time is to be
very attentive and patient when grilling, which she learned from
her dad. "We know Americans love to stoke the coals -- about 90
percent fire up their grills on a regular basis -- and it was
exciting to see how enthusiastic our contestants were to show off
their skills," said Brent Guinn, brand manager, PAM, ConAgra Foods.
"In its second year, the Most PAM-azing Griller contest is a
friendly way to celebrate America's passion for grilling," Guinn
continued, "and it also helps raise the confidence level of all
backyard grillers, as we share recipes and tips -- such as using
PAM for Grilling -- to make grilling easier from start to finish."
PAM for Grilling: contest details More than 13,000 backyard chefs

Moines, Jacksonville, Knoxville, San Antonio, Charleston, and
Tampa. Contestants' grilling abilities were evaluated in four
categories: skill and technique, confidence, enthusiasm, and
originality. The final round took place on Saturday, Aug., 19, at
New York's Summer Seaport Festival, where judges of the final
grill-off included editors from Everyday Food, Southern Living,
Martha Stewart Living, and last year's Most PAM-azing Griller
