ConAgra Foods announced today that Jacqueline K. Heslop McCook has joined the company as chief growth officer and executive vice president, International. In this role, she will report to company president and chief executive officer Gary Rodkin, and she will oversee the company's strategy for growth, its marketing and its international business opportunities. Until this announcement, McCook, 49, was president and CEO of The McCook Group, a consulting firm advising consumer-oriented companies on strategy development, branding and innovation. She previously was senior vice president, Worldwide Strategic Planning & Branding for Burger King, and prior to that she was vice president of marketing for PepsiCo Restaurants International (now YUM! Brands) and general manager of Taco Bell International. While at PepsiCo she launched Taco Bell's shelf-stable grocery line in partnership with Frito-Lay, which proved to be one of the top ten new product introductions of 1993. She also led a major turnaround of Taco Bell International, increasing same-store sales in core markets and reversing declining trends in other markets. She played an instrumental role in redefining the Burger King brand and supporting international growth. In her consulting business she has been an advisor to a number of large consumer-focused corporations and start-ups, and most recently served as the general manager for the Barbie brand, gaining organizational alignment around a focused brand positioning and key strategies to drive profitable growth. "Jacqueline McCook is an experienced marketer and operator who has demonstrated a consistent ability to develop strategies, redefine brands and lead teams domestically and internationally in ways that have led to profitable growth. She is an excellent person to lead our marketing and growth efforts," said CEO Gary Rodkin. McCook earned her MBA from Harvard Business School and her bachelor's degree in international relations from Stanford University.
