It isn't just another way to eat - it's a way of life. All across
America, outdoor grills have been heating up as one of our favorite
pastimes continues to provide a source of great food and family
fun. To keep things cooking, PAM for Grilling(R) is getting women
and men fired up with a nationwide contest to recognize America's
top grillers, as well as offering tips to help all backyard
grillers improve their skills. The Battle of the PAMazing Grillers
will give enthusiasts across the country a chance to test their
savvy and skill with others at the grill. The contest will award
$10,000, a customized grill and the coveted title of America's Most
PAMazing Griller to the Grand Prize Winner. Entrants ages 18 or
older should apply by July 31, 2005 at www.pam4you.com/grilling,
answering, "Why I should be crowned America's Most PAMazing
Griller." Who Rules the Tongs? Survey Shows Gap Narrowing Who's the
best griller? Asking women and men today yields some interesting
results. A new national survey finds there is only the narrowest of
gaps between the sexes when it comes to who's firing up the
backyard grill the most - with 59 percent of men and 52 percent of
women saying they now test their skill at the outdoor grill at
least once a week. Yet, both sexes agree that men still hold the
tongs more often as the household's top griller. So, are men the
better grillers? Not necessarily - in a surprising twist, the
survey sponsored by PAM for Grilling, revealed that almost 3 in 10
women admit to letting their men grill more often... solely to
boost their egos! But, the question remains...who are better
grillers? Men or women? There may never be final agreement - that
will be debated for years to come. But who is the best griller in
2005? The Battle of the PAMazing Grillers can help answer that. And
as tongs and spatulas fly, the PAM for Grilling team will be on
hand to ensure a "clean" competition - with an ample supply of PAM
for Grilling No-stick Cooking Spray. "We're not trying to answer
the age-old question, who is better - men or women? We'll leave the
gender debate to the experts," said Angela Joyner, marketing
director, Grocery, ConAgra Foods. "This contest brings together
great grillers - women and men alike - in a spirited, but friendly,
competition to recognize excellence in grilling, and see who
deserves to own the tongs and title of America's Most PAMazing
Griller in 2005. "Ultimately," said Joyner, "this will give us a
great opportunity to learn more from the experts and pass along to
Americans the tools, tips and trade secrets that can make everyone
a great griller." To take both men and women grillers through the
summer grilling season with ease, PAM for Grilling has also
launched the PAMazing Grillers Program to raise the confidence
level of all backyard grillers. Best selling authors, Bill and
Cheryl Jamison - grilling aficionados and husband and wife - have
teamed with PAM for Grilling to help provide expert tips for an
informational PAMazing Grillers Web site (www.pam4you.com/grilling)
that showcases grilling tips, recipes, BBQ&A's and a few
"tricks of the trade." The Jamisons' newly released book, Good
Times, Good Grilling: Surefire Recipes for Great Grill Parties,
offers home cooks easy recipes for casual backyard entertaining.
"Men and women grilling together can be fun - creating a friendly
competition that will keep backyard grills cooking and appetites
satisfied all summer," said Cheryl Jamison. "The PAMazing Grillers
Program gives everyone a chance to learn and practice tips and
tools to enjoy one of America's favorite cooking pastimes." PAM for
Grilling: Trade Secret for Great Grilling While men and women may
not see eye-to-eye about who is best at the barbecue, both sexes
agreed that clean up was one of the top three grilling challenges.
Specially formulated to produce no-stick results at higher
temperatures, PAM for Grilling No-stick Cooking Spray makes clean
up a snap - while grilling is easier and food presentation is
enhanced. These features have made PAM for Grilling a "trade
secret" for many grilling aficionados. With 72 percent of
respondents in agreement that grilling well requires the right
tools - PAM for Grilling has earned its spot next to the spatula
and tongs. Beginner or aficionado, you can't grill without it!
