Lukoil Buys 15.5% Interest in Shah Deniz Natural Gas Project for $2.25 Billion

Lukoil PJSC said Thursday that it has bought a 15.5% interest in
the Shah Deniz natural gas project in the Azerbaijan sector of the
Caspian Sea from Petronas for $2.25 billion.
The Russian oil-and-gas company said that following the
acquisition it will have a 25.5% share in the project.
BP PLC is operator of the project with a 28.8% share.
