Air Products Announces Executive Appointments

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa., Sept. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Air Products
(NYSE:APD) today announced that its Board of Directors has elected
Stephen J. Jones as vice president, general counsel and secretary,
and M. Scott Crocco as vice president and corporate controller.
Both appointments are effective October 1. Mr. Jones, currently
vice president and associate general counsel, will report to John
E. McGlade, Air Products' president and chief executive officer as
of October 1. He replaces W. Douglas Brown, vice president, general
counsel and secretary, who announced in January his plans to retire
this year. Mr. Brown joined Air Products in 1975 and held a variety
of leadership positions over his 32 years with the company. He has
served as general counsel and secretary since February 1999 and
will retire on September 30. Mr. Jones joined Air Products as a
lawyer in 1992 and served in the Law Group for several years before
moving into the company's Energy and Process Industries Division as
California area manager for tonnage gases with responsibility for
the company's hydrogen activities on the West Coast. In 2003, he
was named vice president and general manager of the Industrial
Chemicals Division where he was responsible for the methylamines,
higher amines and polyurethane intermediates businesses on a global
basis. He was named vice president and associate general counsel in
January 2007. Mr. Jones received his law degree in 1989 from the
University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Crocco has held the position of
corporate controller since November 2006 with responsibility for
Global Accounting and Transaction Services, and Corporate Decision
Support. With this appointment, he becomes chief accounting officer
for the company. He will continue to report to Paul Huck, vice
president and chief financial officer. Mr. Crocco joined Air
Products in 1990 and is a graduate of the company's Career
Development Program (CDP). He has held a variety of financial
analysis and financial management positions in the Chemicals Group,
Gases Group, Corporate Treasury, and Corporate Controllership. In
1998 Mr. Crocco led a re-engineering initiative to improve
company-wide management reporting. In 2000, he was appointed
manager of Financial Analysis and Planning in Corporate Treasury.
In 2001 Mr. Crocco was named controller of the Electronics
Division, and in 2003 he became director of Corporate Decision
Support. Prior to joining Air Products, Mr. Crocco worked for
General Electric Company in a variety of manufacturing positions
including purchasing, production, shop supervision, and quality
control, and is a graduate of GE's Manufacturing Management Program
(MMP). Mr. Crocco received a B.S. in electrical engineering from
Bucknell University in 1986 and an M.B.A. from Cornell in 1990. Air
