Inc., a Canadian subsidiary of Morningstar, Inc. (Nasdaq: MORN),
will hold its 17th annual Morningstar® Canadian
Investment Awards Gala on Wednesday, Nov.
30, 2011 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto. Canada's most celebrated improv
comedian, Colin Mochrie, will host
the gala and his wife, actress Debra
McGrath, will accompany him.
As the industry's premier investment awards program, the
Morningstar Canadian Investment Awards have a longstanding history
of recognizing companies and individuals who have made a difference
in the lives of investors.
The event will include live music and comedy integrated with
state-of-the-art, innovative stage production. The evening features
a networking cocktail reception, the awards dinner, and an
after-party celebrating the launch of the 2012 Canadian
Investment Guide, published by Investment Executive.

incorporating music and comedic entertainment with the award

recognize the industry's most outstanding achievements of 2011.
Awards will be presented to companies and individuals in

Morningstar has added four new awards to the awards line-up.
Morningstar Best Stewardship, Morningstar Best Fund of Funds,
Morningstar Domestic Equity Fund Manager of the Year, and

For the second year, the charitable partner of the Morningstar
Canadian Investment Awards is MusiCounts, the Canadian
music-education charity associated with The Canadian Academy of
Recording Arts and Sciences, the organization behind the nationally
televised JUNO Awards. MusiCount's mission is to provide students
with access to comprehensive music programs in Canadian schools. A
portion of the proceeds from submission-based awards will be
donated to MusiCounts.
The Morningstar Canadian Investment Awards attracts more than
600 guests annually. Individual tickets are $339 plus HST and range from $3,000-$4,500 plus HST for a table of 10. Full
