Exelon Posts Higher 3Q Profit, Lower Revenue

Exelon Corp. (EXC) posted higher third-quarter profit and
better-than-expected adjusted earnings, though revenue fell.
For the quarter ended Sept. 30, the energy provider posted net
income of $772 million, or 79 cents a share, compared with $733
million, or 76 cents a share, in the same quarter last year.
Analysts polled by FactSet were expecting 89 cents a share.
On an adjusted basis, earnings were 92 cents a share, compared
with 88 cents a share a year earlier. Analysts were looking for 89
cents a share.
Operating revenue for the quarter was $8.93 billion, compared
with $9.4 billion a year ago. Analysts were expecting $8.97
billion.
