Nasdaq OMX Group Inc. (NDAQ) has hired an investment banker and is looking at a potential partnership with the IntercontinentalExchange Inc. (ICE) as a response to the merger agreement announced Tuesday by Deutsche Boerse AG (DB1.XE) and NYSE Euronext (NYX), Fox Business Network's Charlie Gasparino reported Wednesday. He said NASDAQ is "scrambling" and looking for some sort of partner in the present competitive environment between the exchanges. On Tuesday Gasparino said NASDAQ and CME Group Inc. (CME) officials were in discussions to respond to the Deutsche Boerse, NYSE Euronext merger agreement.
