SUWANEE, Ga., March 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ARRIS
Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARRS) today announced that Buckeye
CableSystem has selected multiple ARRIS solutions for use in its
customers' homes, network operations center, and throughout its
network infrastructure.
Buckeye's residential and business customers have long counted
on reliable voice, video and high-speed data services, enabled in
large part through the installation and use of a wide variety of
ARRIS technology solutions. Buckeye CableSystem is
deploying the ARRIS Whole Home Solution, next generation
ConvergeMedia™ video on demand (VOD) platform, and ServAssure™
Advanced network monitoring solution. The ARRIS solutions
chosen by Buckeye decrease the costs of integrating and monitoring
services, while providing subscribers with new multiple screen
features to enjoy.
"We built out our IP network precisely so we could offer our
customers the latest features and services available to deliver
great entertainment and broadband throughput," said Brad Mefferd, President of Buckeye CableSystem.
"We've chosen a broad variety of ARRIS solutions to help us
deliver the highest quality multimedia entertainment experience to
our subscribers while enabling us to stay on top of costs."
Buckeye will use the ARRIS Whole Home Solution to provide its
customers with multi-room access to broadcast, unicast and
multicast content, whether via cable, over the top, or the
subscriber's personal media on their home network. The ARRIS Whole
Home Solution consists of the Moxi® Gateway, Players, User
Interface and Services Portal and offers end users a centralized
gateway that provides simultaneous use of feature-rich video and
telephony services, 6-tuner HD multi-room DVR, Wi-Fi®, DOCSIS® 3.0
data rates, and media-sharing capabilities.
Buckeye's new VOD platform consists of the ARRIS ConvergeMedia™
XMS Server and the ConvergeMedia Management solution. The
ConvergeMedia XMS is a highly stable and reliable video
distribution solution designed to increase subscriber satisfaction
while reducing operating costs for Buckeye. The combined platform
offers the ideal managed- solution to rapidly deploy,
cost-effectively scale, and monetize video services.
Buckeye has also implemented the ARRIS ServAssure Advanced
platform to manage DOCSIS® devices across its entire network. The
solution helps minimize the cost and complexity of managing DOCSIS
networks by reducing the number of non-revenue generating truck
rolls and enabling predictive capacity planning for plant
maintenance and growth. ServAssure Advanced is comprised of a
suite of applications that collect, store and aggregate a
comprehensive set of performance and utilization metrics to help
solve network issues. Operators use the information to improve
network reliability, reduce customer churn and decrease operational
expenses.
"High-end services are linked to subscriber loyalty and the
Whole Home Solution and VOD capabilities take these services to
multiple screens," said Dan Whalen,
SVP Americas Sales for ARRIS. "Additionally, a lack of visibility
into service quality and customer experience can eventually lead to
subscriber dissatisfaction and churn. ARRIS ServeAssure Advanced is
designed to help operators like Buckeye meet their rigorous
customer service standards."
