--Netflix might join the Hollywood lobbying group Motion Picture Association of America, CNBC reports Tuesday, citing a person familiar with the situation.

--Netflix, which produces original television series and movies as well as streaming content, would be the first streaming service to join the group, the report said.

--Amazon.com has also considered becoming a member of the MPAA, the report said.
