ST. LOUIS, Oct. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- In advance of
the expected landfall later this week of Hurricane Michael, Express
Scripts reminds patients to include their prescription medications
in their emergency plans by printing their medication history,
securing vital prescription drugs, and ensuring adequate medication
supplies.
In accordance with State of Emergency declarations in
Alabama and Florida, Express Scripts (NASDAQ: ESRX) has
implemented emergency procedures for its members in these areas,
including Medicare, Medicaid and TRICARE® beneficiaries, and
patients who fill medications via the company's Accredo specialty
pharmacy.
Members in an affected area can obtain an early refill to ensure
they have enough medication on hand prior to the storm, or to
replace any medication that is lost or damaged as a result of the
storm.
In addition, Express Scripts is contacting impacted home
delivery pharmacy customers and Accredo specialty customers to
reschedule pending medication shipments due to the storm, or to
divert the shipment to an alternate address, as needed.
Members can call the number on the back of their prescription ID
card, or visit https://www.express-scripts.com, for more
information.
Emergency Preparedness
Express Scripts reminds its
members, and others affected by this storm, to take important
precautions, including:
- Print a copy of your medication history and keep it with you in
a sealed plastic bag.
- If you have to evacuate, take your medication with you (as well
as your medication list).
- If you're running low on medicine, call or visit your local
pharmacy now and obtain an emergency supply.
