ADRs End Lower

International stocks trading in New York closed mostly lower on
Monday.
Carnival PLC and GW Pharmaceuticals PLC were among the companies
with ADRs that traded actively.
The BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts fell 1.92%
to 144.95. The European index decreased 1.71% to 134.92, the Asian
index lost 2.6% to 174.18, the Latin American index fell 0.41% to
210.36 and the emerging markets index decreased 2.54% to
308.43.
Citing growing fuel costs as the reason for lowering its
guidance, Carnival pulled down other cruise-line operators with it.
ADRs of Carnival fell 9.09% Monday to $58.11 a share.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved GW
Pharmaceuticals' cannabidiol drug Epidolex, the first ever
prescription drug derived from marijuana. Despite approval of the
seizure treatment, ADRs of the company fell 4.29% to $144.76 a
share.
Trump administration plans to curb Chinese investment in U.S.
tech firms and tech exports to China brought shares of Alibaba
Group Holding Ltd. down 5.33% to $191.25 Monday.
