SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Extreme
Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: EXTR) will honor Eufaula City Schools today
as the latest recipient of the Extreme Exemplary School Award.
Winners are chosen each quarter based on their steadfast commitment
to implementing a personalized digital learning environment for
every student, while embodying the best in American education by
successfully engaging students in 1:1 or mobile learning.
Recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of the "Top 100"
schools in the United States,
Eufaula City Schools offer students a robust set of programs
including enrichment electives, credit recovery, robotics and its
award-winning Career Academy. Eufaula continually puts enhanced
digital learning at the forefront of the curriculum, preparing
students for today's higher education and workforce environment. To
improve the digital learning experience for over 2,700 students and
300 teachers, Eufaula deployed ExtremeWireless™, ExtremeManagement™
and ExtremeAnalytics™ to deliver reliable, high-density Wi-Fi
within classrooms and its new indoor athletic practice facility.
Specifically, Extreme's solutions helped to improve Eufaula's new
$3.2 million athletic facility by
transforming it into a technology hub. These solutions also
supported Eufaula's unique curriculum offerings, including its
drone pilot licensing program, which allows students to earn their
FAA pilot's license, and its coding curriculum, which was awarded
the 2017 Champion for Computer Science award by Code.org.
The Exemplary School Award is presented to schools that meet the
following criteria:
- Stimulate 24x7 Learning: To meet the demands of today's
competitive global economy, schools must create lifetime learners.
To promote this concept and qualify for the Extreme Exemplary
School Award, a school must institute a 1:1 or Bring Your Own
Device (BYOD) mobile learning environment.
- Facilitate Individual Instruction: Learning is not a
one-size-fits-all environment. Networks and resources must be
empowered to permit personalized digital learning.
- Encourage Curricular Growth: To meet the demands of
curricular change, a district must implement an infrastructure that
readily adapts to curricular needs. Everyone learns differently,
and the network must be prepared to meet the growing requirements
of eBooks, streaming video and blended or flipped learning.
"Eufaula City Schools is honored to receive the Extreme
Exemplary School Award. Our faculty and staff are passionate about
improving students' experiences in the classroom and on the field,"
said Todd Watkins, director of
technology and innovation at Eufaula City Schools. "We're always
looking for ways to develop innovative approaches to teaching and
learning through technology, such as our latest drone program.
Extreme has always supported our mission by enabling us with
reliable and strong connectivity solutions and without its
exceptional customer support and dedication, our district would not
be where we are now."
"We're proud to recognize Eufaula City Schools for their hard
work and dedication in investing in digital learning to enhance
student learning," said Robert
Nilsson, director of vertical solutions at Extreme Networks.
"At Extreme, we take pride in delivering wireless networking
solutions that enable technology adaption to help schools create
the best education experience."
An award presentation is scheduled for January 30, 2018 when Extreme will present the
Exemplary School Award during its Extreme NOW world tour event in
Atlanta, GA.
