FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.,
Oct. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/
-- AutoNation, Inc. (NYSE: AN), America's largest automotive
retailer, is commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness Month on October
11. Associates in all 18 markets from coast to coast will
assemble and deliver gift bags filled with items designed specially
to bring comfort to kids and adults undergoing cancer treatment.
It's all part of their larger "DRIVE PINK" Initiative that has
raised more than $11 Million to fund
cancer-related nonprofits and research into finding a cure.
"In 2017, we celebrated the sale of our 11 Millionth vehicle and
we've just surpassed $11 Million
donated to cancer charities. What better way to mark these
historic events than by designating October
11 as Drive Pink Across America Day? This is a great
opportunity for all 26,000 associates to unite in support of those
battling cancer," said AutoNation Chairman, Chief Executive Officer
and President, Mike Jackson.
Since launching Drive Pink in 2015, AutoNation's Associates have
participated in local fundraising events to support cancer related
charities like Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa and Wipe out Kids Cancer in
Dallas. These activities will culminate at the
AutoNation Cure Bowl at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on December 16. Featuring a
concert by Platinum Recording Artist, Andy
Grammer the AutoNation Cure Bowl is the only college bowl
game with a charitable cause in its name.
