“We are excited to bring our award-winning service and low fares
to even more markets from Atlanta,” said Marty St. George,
executive vice president commercial and planning, JetBlue.
“Customers flying between Boston and Atlanta have shown a strong
appetite for a competitive option like JetBlue, and we anticipate
we’ll see the same for the New York, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando
routes.”
JetBlue first announced its intent to serve these cities last
year. The new flights will build on existing nonstop service to
Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), which launched in March
2017 and operates five times per day.
In the three JetBlue focus cities, the airline’s loyal customer
base will benefit from new service to the largest U.S. market
previously not served with nonstop JetBlue flights. In Atlanta, the
flights will offer fresh nonstop choices for fliers traveling to
key markets in the northeast and Florida.
In New York, customers will enjoy traveling through JetBlue’s
award-winning home at JFK’s Terminal 5 where the airline offers
flights to more than 70 nonstop destinations. JetBlue has also
built a rich portfolio of interline and codeshare agreements with
dozens of other airlines at JFK that help connect customers to
cities around the world. Travelers can connect to destinations
around the world on carriers such as Emirates, El Al, Aer Lingus,
Etihad and Qatar.
JetBlue’s two Florida focus cities are home to a wide range of
top attractions and exciting events. The airline operates a
combined total of more than 170 daily flights in Fort Lauderdale
and Orlando. In addition to being top destinations, the cities also
serve as gateways to the airline’s vast Caribbean and Latin
American route map. JetBlue serves more than two dozen destinations
throughout the region and serves multiple cities Cuba, Puerto Rico,
the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Colombia. Additionally, JetBlue
has interline and codeshare agreements with a combined total of ten
other airlines in Fort Lauderdale and Orlando which offer a variety
of connection options to global and regional destinations.
