Italians in most countries around the world can support their loved ones with No-Fee* Money Transfer Transactions from retail Agent locations

The Western Union Company (NYSE:WU) increased its support for the people of Italy struck by the earthquake by launching 0 Fee* money transfers from Agent locations in most countries around the world for pick up at more than 450 Agent locations in affected areas of the provinces of Ascoli Piceno, Fermo, L’Aquila, Perugia, Rieti, Teramo and Terni. The 0 Fee option will be active for ten days from August 31st, to September 9th**. Consumers should be sure to indicate that they are sending support to loved one impacted by the earthquake.

Already 48 hours after the earthquake, the Western Union Foundation had committed US$50,000 to Save the Children to provide relief to the children affected. The company’s support to Italy is a part of a multi-faceted response from its retail Agent locations, Agents, employees, customers and other business partners to provide support for families and communities most affected by the earthquake in Italy.

** The 0 Disaster Relief Fee is not available when sending from the USA or Canada. Due to the severity of the earthquake, some Western Union Agent locations in Italy may not be immediately operational or possess sufficient funds.
