AUSTIN, Texas, March 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Spanish
Broadcasting System, Inc. (SBS) (Nasdaq: SBSA) & AIRE Radio
Networks and SXSW join forces to launch SXAmericas a new program
focused on harnessing the collective talent, idea pool and
opportunities for U.S. and LATAM audiences. Officially launching
today, March 11, SXAmericas will
offer U.S. Latino and Latin American SXSW goers a deeper networking
opportunity to discuss and address the latest industry
opportunities for the Americas.
"Spotlighting the international creative stage, the South By
Southwest Music Conference (SXSW) is thrilled to announce
SXAmericas, an exciting programming addition geared to connect U.S
Hispanics, Latin American and Spanish industry thought leaders,"
said Alicia Zertuche, SXAmericas
Producer. "SBS is a true founding partner in believing in the
importance of creating a new opportunity for festival goers and
joining forces in year one to make some incredible connections
happen. We're excited for what's to come."
"Though US Hispanics share a language, the community is a mosaic
of different cultures and communities. SBS & AIRE Radio
Networks' goal is to deliver organic connections to Hispanic
consumers through unique entertainment content distributed across
multiple devices," said Stephen
Hobbs Vice President of Entertainment at SBS. "Our
partnership with SXSW underlines the fact that we recognize
SXAmericas as the intersection where new ideas, technology and
culture meet."
SXSW is increasingly known as the international creative stage
for what's next in music, film, and interactive technology. With
new events such as SXSW ECO and SXSW EDU and now SXSW V2V, there is
an opportunity to bring additional niche industries together to
further discovery via learning, sharing and networking. While the
U.S. Latino population continues to explode, its creative
influencers can be found in key markets across the country such as
Miami, Los Angeles, New
York, and Austin. SXAmericas will provide a platform to
enhance the current SXSW experience by converging Latino
influencers across key creative industries, such as Music, Film,
Interactive, Marketing, etc.
