Alkane hits high-grade gold at Tomingley

Alkane Resources Ltd managing director Nic Earner talked with Proactive about recent high-grade gold intercepts and ongoing resource expansion at the Tomingley gold operations in New South Wales. Earner detailed strong results from underground drilling at both the Caloma and Roswell zones, with intercepts showing multiple grams per tonne over substantial widths. “We’ve had some very, very high-grade hits… tens of metres at plus ten grams in Roswell,” he noted, highlighting the significant contribution these results will make to near-term reserve updates and future production planning. The company is confident these results will support mine life extensions well into the 2030s. Reserve and resource updates, including for Caloma One and Caloma Two, are expected in the August–September period, following analysis of the June 30 data. Earner also touched on Alkane’s recent financial performance, stating: “It’s been a great quarter… we had a great cash build,” helped by strong production and a high Australian-dollar gold price. He confirmed guidance remains on track, with 17,500 ounces produced and expectations of reaching 19,000 ounces by quarter end. Alkane continues to advance permitting for the highway relocation and is actively progressing exploration across both the Boda-Kaiser project and Tomingley region. Standard Uranium forms alliance with Fleet Space Technologies for exploration at Davidson River

Standard Uranium Vice President of Exploration Sean Hillacre joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce a major technological advancement in its exploration strategy through a newly formed strategic partnership with Fleet Space Technologies Canada Corp. This collaboration aims to enhance uranium discovery efforts on the company’s flagship Davidson River Project, located in the prolific southwestern Athabasca Basin—home to some of the world’s richest uranium deposits. Hillacre told Proactive the company will deploy Fleet Space’s cutting-edge Exosphere Multiphysics surveys represents a significant leap forward in exploration methodology. This advanced geophysical program combines real-time 3D Ambient Noise Tomography (ANT) and ground gravity surveys, providing powerful new data layers to improve geological targeting. The technology will be rolled out in spring 2025 across the Warrior, Bronco, and Thunderbird conductors—three of the most promising structural corridors on the Davidson River Project. By integrating ANT and gravity data, the surveys will generate 3D shear velocity models and custom density inversion models, which will serve as critical layers for drill targeting. These models are designed to pinpoint density anomalies in basement rocks, a key indicator of hydrothermal alteration processes often associated with uranium-bearing systems. This approach has been instrumental in the discovery of world-class uranium deposits elsewhere in the southwestern Athabasca Basin, and Standard Uranium aims to replicate that success with a data-driven targeting strategy. HANetf’s Tom Bailey on Future of European Defence UCITS ETF (ARMY)

HANetf head of research Tom Bailey talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the launch of the new Future of European Defence UCITS ETF (LSE:ARMY, XETRA:ARMY, EURONEXT:ARMY). Bailey explained the rationale behind launching a regionally focused fund, following the success of HANetf’s Global Future of Defence UCITS ETF (NATO). He said: “We think for many investors it kind of resonates with that whole theme of building up your defence sector via a European ETF with a European company.” Bailey noted that European defence spending rose by 11.7% between 2023 and 2024, outpacing global growth of 7.5%, with Germany’s own spend increasing 23%. This uptick is attributed to geopolitical shifts and the drive for strategic autonomy. Bailey highlighted a growing preference within Europe to source defence equipment domestically, reducing reliance on US firms, which currently account for around 60% of European defence procurement. He also pointed to political developments in the US, including recent tariff announcements and perceived isolationist policies, as reinforcing Europe's need for self-reliance in defence. The ARMY ETF is currently listed on the London Stock Exchange, Xetra (Germany), and Euronext Paris, with plans to launch in Italy. Ocean Power Technologies expands global reach with reseller agreements in U.S. and Colombia

The first agreement is with Elektron SAS, a Cartagena, Colombia-based company specializing in hydrographic and oceanographic instrumentation services. Elektron will provide sales, integration, and support services for OPT’s full suite of maritime solutions, including the WAM-V® Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs), the Next Generation PowerBuoy®, and the AI-powered Merrows™ platform.
