Davis Polk today announced that registered funds practitioner Christopher P. Healey has joined the firm as a partner in the Investment Management practice in Washington DC.

“I am pleased to welcome Chris to the firm,” said Neil Barr, Davis Polk’s Managing Partner. “We are planning a material growth initiative in our asset management platform. Chris is a rising star in the registered funds space who brings deep market knowledge and significant experience in both transactional and regulatory work. In addition to addressing a strategic objective for our Investment Management practice, Chris is key to the buildout of our corporate presence in Washington.”

Mr. Healey advises clients on a wide array of registered fund products, including BDCs, closed-end funds and interval funds, as well as on complex asset management M&A transactions and innovative Investment Company Act regulatory matters. He has represented many of the leading sponsors and investment managers. Prior to joining Davis Polk, Mr. Healey was a partner in the Registered Funds practice at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP.

“Chris has extensive experience advising a wide range of clients on registered fund and ‘40 Act matters. The diversity of his practice – from asset management M&A transactions for major investment firms, to representing clients with respect to various ‘40 Act products, to sophisticated regulatory work – aligns very well with what we do at Davis Polk,” said Leor Landa, head of Davis Polk’s Investment Management practice. “He is a fantastic addition to our team, and we are excited to welcome him.”

Mr. Healey said, “Davis Polk is an exceptional firm. The opportunity to join such a talented and collaborative group and help grow the firm’s asset management practice and Washington DC office is very exciting.”

Fund Intelligence named Mr. Healey a “Rising Star” at the 2020 Mutual Fund Industry and ETF Awards, and the Legal 500 US quotes a registered funds client describing Mr. Healey as a “key asset” with “tremendous ‘40 Act knowledge.”

Mr. Healey received his B.A. from Tufts University in 2006 and his J.D. from George Washington University Law School in 2011.
