                     Appointment of Non Executive Directors


The Board of Ted Baker plc (the "Company") is pleased to announce the
appointment of Lord Stone of Blackheath and David Bernstein as Non-executive
Directors of the Company, with immediate effect.

Lord Stone pursued a distinguished career with Marks & Spencer plc, becoming
Merchandise Director and then Joint Managing Director prior to his retirement in
1999.  Lord Stone is also a non-executive director of N Brown Group plc,
Brainboost Limited and the Overseas Development Institute.  Lord Stone holds a
wide range of positions in public bodies and voluntary organisations.

David Bernstein is non-executive Chairman of Blacks Leisure PLC, Manchester City
plc, Parisa Group PLC and Adams Childrenswear Limited. Previously he was joint
Managing Director of Pentland Group plc and Chairman of French Connection PLC.

Both Lord Stone and David Bernstein will join the audit, remuneration and
nomination committees.

The Board is also pleased to announce the appointment of Charles Anderson as
Company Secretary in succession to Lindsay Page.  Charles Anderson is Head of
Finance at Ted Baker and was previously Financial Controller at Carpetright plc
and Finance Manager at House of Fraser PLC.

Ray Kelvin, Chief Executive, said: "We are delighted to welcome Lord Stone and
David Bernstein to the Board.  They bring a wide range of skills, knowledge and
experience with them which will benefit the future development of the business.
I would also like to congratulate Charles Anderson on his appointment as Company
