                                 AGM STATEMENT

At the Annual General Meeting held in London today all of the resolutions, as
set out in the Notice of Meeting dated 17 May 2002, were approved by
shareholders and Chairman Brian North made the following statement:


"Ted Baker has made good progress since the year-end. The results for the full
year will, as always, be dependent on trading in the second half of the
financial year. The Board remains confident of a successful outcome for the
year.


I now wish to announce my retirement as Non-Executive Chairman after five very
happy and exciting years spent with Ted Baker. I am delighted to announce that
Robert Breare will succeed me in this role. I am certain that his experience
will prove invaluable for the Company and I wish him every success in his new
position."
