The Board of Ted Baker plc (the "Company") was notified on 2 July 2001 that
Schroders Investment Management Limited and its subsidiary and affiliated
companies are interested in 5,287,412 ordinary shares in the Company
representing 12.813 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.
