Further to the announcement on 04 December 2008, Osmetech plc (AIM: OMH), the international molecular diagnostics company, is pleased to
announce that all of the resolutions proposed at the Company's extraordinary general meeting held earlier today to approve, inter alia, (i)
the issue of 446,803,520 new ordinary shares in the Company to institutional investors (the 'Conditional Placing Shares'); and (ii) a
general authority to allot further securities, including securities up to an aggregate nominal amount of �89,160 free from statutory
pre-emption rights, were duly passed.
    Application has been made for the admission of the Conditional Placing Shares to trading on AIM. It is expected that dealings in the
Conditional Placing Shares will commence at 8.00 a.m. on Tuesday 23 December 2008. 
    The total number of shares in the Company in issue following admission of the Conditional Placing Shares will be 891,607,157
