  871 million ordinary shares of 10p each ("Ordinary Shares")

Kleinwort Benson Limited ("KBL") is acting as stabilising
manager in respect of the Public Offer of 418 million Ordinary
Shares.

During the period commencing on 15 June 1997 and ending on 10
July 1997, stabilising transactions may occur.  Such
stabilising may be effected on the London Stock Exchange or
otherwise.

The issue price of the Ordinary Shares is 290 pence per share.
