Appointment of Non-Executive Directors
KBC is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen
Pettit and Philip Rogerson to the Board as Non-Executive
Directors, with effect from 1 February 1999.
Stephen Pettit (47) is currently Executive Director,
Global Businesses at Cable & Wireless. Prior to joining
Cable & Wireless in 1994, Mr Pettit spent twenty years at
British Petroleum plc where he undertook various roles,
including running the group's International Oil Trading
business, before being appointed Chief Executive, BP
Chemicals.
During his time at Cable & Wireless he had responsibility
for and successfully implemented the merger of Mercury
Communications and three UK cable TV companies to form
Cable & Wireless Communications, where he remains a Non-
Executive Director.
Philip Rogerson (54) is currently a Director of several
companies including Viridian Group plc and Pipeline
Integrity International Group Ltd where he is Chairman and
Aggreko plc where he is Deputy Chairman.
A chartered accountant, Mr Rogerson held various positions
at ICI plc before moving to BG plc in 1992 as Finance
Director and then Deputy Chairman. In this position Mr
Rogerson was responsible for all major regulatory issues
and the demerger of Centrica plc, the UK gas supply and
trading business, which was successfully completed in
February 1997.
Welcoming the new appointments, KBC's Chairman Michael
Press said: "We are delighted that Stephen and Philip have
agreed to join the Board. The combination of skills and
experience which they bring with them will be invaluable
in the future development of KBC."
