NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING & PROPOSAL FOR THE GENERAL PURCHASE BY THE
COMPANY OF ITS OWN SHARES

The Board of KBC Advanced Technologies plc announces that the next Annual
General Meeting will be held on Friday 12 May.  A copy of the notice is
available from the Company Announcements Office of the London Stock Exchange.  

The Board of KBC Advanced Technologies plc ("KBC") announces that it will seek a
general authorisation from shareholders to purchase its own shares at the AGM to
be held on 12 May 2000.

The company will seek approval to make purchases of up to 7,250,000 million
ordinary shares, which would represent 14.8% of the current issued share
capital, for cancellation.  The company currently has no intention of using
these powers to purchase its own shares.
