                  ("KBC" or the Group")
                            
                      BOARD CHANGES
                            
KBC announces that Peter Close has informed the Board  of
his  intention  to  leave  the  Company  as  a  full-time
employee with immediate effect. He will remain a director
of  KBC until the announcement of its preliminary results
in February 2000.

Following a short break in employment, his services  will
remain available to KBC on a consultancy basis.

KBC Chairman, Michael Press, commented: "Peter has made  an
enormous  contribution to the Group since its foundation.
I  am  delighted that he will be available  to  us  as  a
consultant and adviser in the future."
