On 5 September 2002, the directors of Dobbies Garden Centres PLC were advised
that Mrs Sarah Hammond-Chambers, wife of Mr Alex Hammond-Chambers, non-executive
Chairman, disposed of 20,000 Ordinary shares at a price of 410p. This means that
Mr Alex Hammond-Chambers and connected persons retain 130,520 Ordinary shares of
10p, representing 1.3% of the issued share capital of the company.
