DOBBIES GARDEN CENTRES PLC ("DOBBIES")

The  Board of Dobbies is pleased to announce the appointment
of  Mrs Sharon Mary Brown (age 31) as Finance Director  with
immediate effect.     Mrs. Brown will continue in  her  role
as Company Secretary of Dobbies.

Mrs.  Brown holds 12,500 share options (ordinary  shares  of
10p  each)  under  the Dobbies Garden Centres  plc  Approved
Employee  Share Option Scheme and 12,500 under  the  Dobbies
Garden Centres plc Employee Share Option Scheme.
