CMG plc makes third acquisition in France this year
CMG plc, the European IT Services Group, announces that it has
acquired 100% of Techside Consultants S.A and its two small
operating subsidiaries ("Techside"). The consideration is
FF31 million (#3.2 million) which is payable in cash.
Techside is a Paris-based IT services group specialising in
advanced technology and leading edge technical methodologies.
It was set up by its present managers in 1991 and now services
a range of sectors, the most significant being Finance (50%),
Public Sector (30%) and the Aerospace, Automobile and
Manufacturing Industries (20%). Clients of Techside include
Societe Generale, Credit Lyonnais, CNP, Bull, Aerospatiale,
Generali, EDF, Schlumberger and SNCF.
The senior management will remain with the company in order to
build up the business further, as will all Techside's 106
employees.
In the first half year of 1998 Techside had a turnover of
FF18.5 million (#1.9 million) and profit before tax of FF2
million (# 0.2 million). Net assets of Techside at 30 June
1998 were approximately FF1.8 million (#0.18 million). The
acquisition is expected to make a positive contribution to
CMG's 1998 earnings before goodwill amortisation.
Commenting on the acquisition, Gerard Brouwer, Country
Director for CMG France, said: "The acquisition, which
complements those of Alias and COMETH earlier this year,
expands the range of services offered by CMG in France. With
now over 250 employees working in the Finance, ERP, Public
Sector and Telecom markets we have created a sound base for
further expansion in France."
