           CMG plc: Non-executive director appointed

CMG plc today announces the appointment of Mr George Loudon as
a non-executive director of the CMG plc Group board.

Mr. Loudon, 55, a Dutch national, is currently a director of
Arjo Wiggins Appleton plc and Geveke NV, as well as holding
other non-executive positions.  From 1988 until 1992, he was
Chairman and Chief Executive of Midland Montagu and a director
of Midland Bank plc.  Previous non-executive directorships
include M&G Group plc, Euromobiliare SpA in Italy and the
Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

Mr Loudon brings to CMG over 20 years' boardroom-level
experience in the finance sector, particularly in the areas of
investment banking and asset management, in both Europe and
the USA.  He is also currently a director of EASDAQ SA and of
the European Association of Securities Dealers, based in
Brussels.

The other CMG non-executive directors are Murray Stuart CBE,
Chairman of Scottish Power plc, Wilko Borner, formerly Chief
Executive of the Volksfursorge group of insurance companies,
Angus Young, formerly senior partner of Radcliffes & Co, Joop
Feilzer, Vice Chairman of  Fortis AMEV NV and Jack Mather,
formerly Chief Executive of NFC plc.  Mr Feilzer and Mr Mather
will be retiring from the Board at the conclusion of the AGM
on 12 May.
