                                    Placing


Clipper Ventures, the AIM listed international marine events company, is pleased
to announce that it has successfully raised #1,050,000 via a placing of
7,000,000 new Ordinary Shares (the "Placing Shares") to investors at a price of
15 pence per share (the "Placing Price"). The funds will be used to satisfy the
terms of a new banking facility being offered to the Company as well as to
strengthen the balance sheet and provide further general working capital.

Corporate Synergy Plc, as agent for the Company, has placed the Placing Shares
at the Placing Price, subject to the Placing Shares being admitted to trading on
AIM. The Placing Price represents a discount of 17.8 per cent. to the closing
mid market price of 18.25p on AIM as at 22 January 2007, the date prior to the
publication of this announcement. The Placing Shares will, when issued and fully
paid, rank pari passu in all respects with the existing issued ordinary shares
of the Company.

As part of the placing, William Ward, Chief Executive of Clipper Ventures, has
subscribed for 533,334 new ordinary shares thereby increasing his shareholding
to 7,489,936 ordinary shares, which will represent approximately 19.8% of the
enlarged issued share capital following the placing. The directors of the
Company (excluding William Ward) consider, having consulted with Corporate
Synergy Plc, that the terms of the subscription of shares by William Ward is
fair and reasonable insofar as its shareholders are concerned.


Application has been made for the Placing Shares to be admitted to trading on
AIM and trading in the Placing Shares is expected to commence on 30 January
2007. Following admission of the Placing Shares, the Company will have
37,859,609 ordinary shares of one penny each in issue.
