STOCKHOLM--Swedish industrial tool maker Atlas Copco AB said Monday that it has acquired the operating assets of Compressed Air Systems, Inc., a distributor of compressors located in North Carolina in the U.S.

"North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia are areas with good growth potential and the acquisition will enable us to reach our goal to get closer to customers," said Vagner Rego, president of Atlas Copco's Compressor Technique unit.

Compressed Air Systems is a privately-owned company and has 30 employees.

The purchase price wasn't disclosed, and Atlas added that it isn't material relative to the company's market capitalization.
