Sasol Ltd. said Monday that there was no apparent damage to
major process equipment, utilities or infrastructure after
hurricane Laura made landfall near its chemical complex in
Southwest Louisiana.
The South Africa-based petrochemical and energy company said it
found only moderate wind damage to cooling towers and some
insulation and building damage from the hurricane which made
landfall on Aug. 27.
Sasol completed damage assessments of its chemical complex's 14
manufacturing facilities and associated utilities and
infrastructure.
It added that regular employee work shifts have resumed, and
that hired contractors have been working to expedite readiness for
start up.
